The Two Counties Trust (TTCT) is proud to announce our new partnership with Impetus as part of their Engage Fund, which in collaboration with the Henry Smith Charity, is dedicated to reducing school exclusions and improving outcomes for young people in alternative provision (AP) across England. This partnership aligns with our commitment to creating a Trust that levels the playing field and supports its most vulnerable students, particularly those at risk of exclusion.
Through this partnership, we will expand our Internal Alternative Provision (IAP) centres from 3 of our schools to all nine over the next two years. This expansion is designed to provide critical support for students who are at risk of exclusion, offering tailored academic, social and emotional intervention. We believe that high-quality IAP ensures that these students remain engaged in their learning and equips them with the skills needed to thrive in mainstream school.
Our approach to IAP is rooted in inclusivity, viewing IAP not as a disciplinary measure but as a vital intervention for students requiring additional support. This model offers an important opportunity to reach young people before permanent exclusion becomes a possibility. As a Trust we have committed a significant number resources towards this goal, including investments in new facilities for IAP centres and the appointment of senior staff to lead these programmes, with inclusivity being central to all aspects of their approach.
In addition to core funding of £100,000 per year, we will receive the support and expertise of Impetus’ dedicated Investment Team, along with access to a world-class pro bono network. By working closely with Impetus, we aim to not only enhance the life choices of the young people we are privileged to serve but also contribute to the education sectors understanding of how inclusive IAP can positively impact educational outcomes.
Wesley Davies, CEO, made the following comment:
“We are delighted to be working with Impetus to support the implementation of Internal Alternative Provision across our family of schools. The expertise and guidance from their Investment Team will be instrumental in helping us establish nine effective IAPs that provide essential support for some of our most vulnerable students. We are committed to enhancing the life choices of students and this project will help us achieve our mission.”
