The BTEC Musical Theatre students of Ashfield School were treated to a visit from West-End legend Rob Houchen this week.
Rob is probably best known for playing Marius in London’s Les Miserables for several years, but has also starred in an array of professional productions, with many fellow famous faces.
When not based in the West End, Rob performs around the world in various concerts. The students of Ashfield were absolutely thrilled to be visited by such a prolific performer.
Rob used his extensive industry experience to help coach our students with their solo performance pieces. He then led an insightful Q&A session, to provide further information about how to obtain and sustain a career as a Musical Theatre performer. He then performed with the students in a large group number, providing them with an experience which will stay with them for years to come.
The students in attendance all expressed their enjoyment of the session. It was an inspiring day with many students now hoping to use the powerful knowledge gained to explore their own career in the Performing Arts.
